LIAR!

Source of story is a http://www.cbsnews.com a CBS News Early Show interview with Newt Gingrich

Calling a member of the public estate, in elective office seeking, a LIAR,  is very harsh, certainly an off the cuff ad hominem, and desperate.  Should Mr. Romney have mis-stated or manipulated facts, then perhaps he should be asked to account.  Mr. Gingrich in his public times has been found to purposely mis-speak in his career, and to manipulate the facts and events of his career and life and positions.  He has many times been given a chance to set the record straight, but was not churlishly called a “LIAR!”.

Maybe an apology?  By the way, it certainly doesn’t sound like, well excuse me, Iowa!

(It sounds like Rush Limbaugh ventriloquism).

Message to Iran

CNN http://www.cnn.com is reporting that IRAN is asking that the USA keep its aircraft carriers out of the Persian Gulf and region.  The United States of America will not.  However, the Persian mind is the problem here for international and regional safety.  Iran obviously connotes the US Carrier group presence with air strike range, and aircraft assault capacities.  The President of Iran, before befooling himself and his nation further, with boasting and demogoguery, should consult an objective military  and naval capacities source such as “JANES” http://www.janes.com.

Proximate to the straits and horn of the Persian Gulf, are the able ground based aircraft of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Iraq, the Kingdom of Kuwait, and the Arab Emirates.  Further, the US Carriers and battle ready aerial missiles are capable from waterborne vessels hundreds of miles beyond the Gulf.

Should, in humor, the Iranians fear marine traffic collisions, they should agree to navigation protocols and conventions of a peaceful nature.  That the Persian Gulf is an open international water body to be sailed and navigated without provocation is settled international law.

As to Iran’s planned medieval chain across the Gulf and Straits at Hormuz, that is outlawry, and simply would not be permitted.

The Ayatollahs as Iranian Guardians and Chancellors of at least rational mind at one time, with the opposition, must truly tire of the juvenality of President Abadaminijad.  The cost in lives and fortune to Iran is immense in any such encounter.  It even, to use vernacular, sweats modern China in her naval intervention fantasy.  Why would modern Iran choose to sound like Adolf Hitler, and Saddam Hussein?

To be short,  the US Navy, and allies through regional security, and the United Nations have full means to quickly, effectively send any Iranian naval ease to the bottom.   That course would be pursued for good international law and defense.   Those nations will do so, should Iran pursue a posture of international criminal activity and  a course in contempt of modernism and international law.  The Iranian Navy  is materially outclassed.

The US Government customarily expresses an ambiguity as to courses of action and capacities as does any good responsible power, but can and will speak affirmatively as to risk and capacity when it needs to do so.
