United Airlines Pension Crisis


Ch 11 and a dump of the vested airline employees and beneficiaries pensions to PBGC is not the solution. Employees and beneficiaries of the airline should renegotiate the CH 11 pension chuck and seek an equity swap (with all managment strengths) instead of the pension discharge.
Employees would hold the stock and run the airline with other investors and rebuild the pension fund.
The airline would reduce its debt obligations (ie here the inverse of an overfunded 'pension' system - the 'lure' to liquidate of the Mike Douglas Wall Street film.
