Windows 8/8.1 WiDi & Miracast

Windows 8/8.1 WiDi & Miracast combine for wireless desktop/laptop/tablet & some smart phones for mirroring display capacities. Windows Blog on WiDi & Miracast. This enables Windows 8 & Windows 8.1 products to project a display wirelessly to another screen or monitor or an equipped TV. WiDi stands for wireless display and is a product of Intel. Windows 8 & Windows 8.1 product users may not all have the WiDi capacity instantly in their equipment, but it is designed for the Windows 8/8.1 OS. See this Intel link for example. Visiting your device maker will determine whether that capacity can be upgraded with supplemental drivers. When visiting Intel, one is referred to ark.intel.com for a determination ahead of time whether supplemental drivers (programs to change your software) are available. When arriving at that site, click the Ark Home drop-down MENU, and disregard the Drivers Utility Tool video for Intel because it is out of date when navigating the site. Select the Processor Features option, Then search the list and or filter the search for your processor if it is Intel. As a note, Intel PENTIUM series as a whole can work with WiDi, but Intel has not produced any supplemental upgrading drivers for that processor series (ie Pentium Dual Core 2020). You'll have more prolifity for the other Intel processors such as Celeron & Atom etc. NetGear produces a fine Push2TV appliance adaptor which works for Miracast and WiDI. Good Luck.
