POTUS Wrong on Lebanon-Israeli War Outcome

President Bush is just wrong, or mis-nformed on the outcome of the Lbanese-Israeli War.
Despite the war's turn and the nationalistic response and material non-Hezbollah, punitive reprisal-like targeting elsewherein Lebanon, Mr. Bush continues to regard Hebollah as a state within a state and a traditional terrorist force.
Mr. Bush's information, if from Israel, disregards many material factors:

- Israel had no good intelligence on Hezbollah capacities and missilery sites -- except that their rockets existed, and could be used.
- POTUS cannot lambaste Hezbollah, and ignore Lebanon's earlier non-civil war start at 'taming' and incorporating Hezbollah into whole Lebanon -- per UN Resolution 1559, his government endorsed that resolution (all alien military & alien para-military forces out).
- Hezbollah is not the expatriate PLO.
- Hezbollah must be transformed, as it was into a peace seeking political and economic player within Lebanon's constitutional polity. That was occurring before the war.
- Lebanon & hezbolah need help establishing a crisis works within Lebanon to deal with hotspur israel; and to integrate Lebanon's military components and integrate them under one national controlling command.
-Israel, cannot apply a reckoning of inequality against other peoples and nations any longer. One Lebanese equals one Israeli. Israel must restrict herself or face sanctions.

Finally, if international growth and justice are to appear, Israel's specific damges to Lebanon, including mis-targeting, must be documented. Supply that report to the public, and the press, and let Israel's once rational voters do the rest.

Hezbollah must be regarded as a past labelled terror group in transition to peaceful political participant. It held off and bled Israel -- its low cost armamnents and guerillas meeting that objective .. but neither country lost nor won -- the two peoples - let down by international institutions and processes tasted the cost and scourge of war again in the 21st Century.
