COMCAST Cable Internet Service

COMCAST cable TV with  internet service works fine; but can have a periodic interruption.  In addition to placing this in the COMCAST FORUM, this blogger will share a use tip here.

This AM, the service started fine, then experienced an internet disconnect.  When that happens, which IS rare for this blogger’s service, this routine helps:

Check the connections , including the MODEM & its lights to verify connection.

Re-boot if desired

Relieve the internet demand momentarily (stop using your browsers or attempting to or your e-mail ‘pop’).

Go to any cable tv adjoining your in house feed line & turn on the TV to verify cable-tv reception.

Then go to the cable tv BOX which you use for special events – ie pay per view – ordering,  and turn that tv – with box - on and attempt to order  a free movie from ON DEMAND. (These boxes minimum one come with a digital cable service account with  on-demand –required for COMCAST internet service).

While using the box –  look for an orange or amber light in front.  That notes that COMCAST has sent a subscriber message.  Read it (use the ‘menu’ red button – one  button also says ‘guide’)  and/or  ‘x’ it off if not needed. (Open the message, then use menu to ‘x’ it off).

Now go back and try your internet service, and see if it is flowing normally.  It probably will be.

While this may be a ‘fluke’ to some  of COMCAST’s dispersed residential service, or a planned effect;  it has been the problem twice with this blogger’s otherwise very reliable COMCAST service.

Today’s message noted that COMCAST DIGITAL VOICE would be available for HAITI concerns calls/calling to HAITI through February 11 2010.

Again, either that delivery energy, or a desire by COMCAST that you read the message right away,  may cause that performance of service interruption. 

This blogger is now very humbled, also,  by the power of COMCAST – WWE (Worldwide Wrestling Events) & Saturday Night Fights which routinely use that message service.
