Windows XP .. Patience
Referencing again the activation genuine Windows issue on some product key editions of Windows XP PRO. It appears that ‘activation’ will suffice for owners/users .. but that may not mean genuineness as to further material registration for additional service benefits (ie Genuine WIndows Advantage .. like a Sears Craftsman guarantee?).
So if your software is not pirated, or blackmarket purchased or illicitly passed to you, it will be activated to Windows/Microsoft satisfaction. It may still not pass the “genuine Windows test” but will be styled ‘activated’ – ie uniquely installed to one computer so as to deter piracy and fulfill your license. (That would be satisfactory tot the End User Licensing Agreement EULA).
In any case, even if thought sloppy and ambiguous .. consider the latter and the costs, and as your product is legitimate, go on, and rely on the ‘bona fide activation’ as some sort of certification.
This URL has a simple test and some more thought briefly.
